Haydar Salman who completed his MSc in 2025 takes time to explain why he embarked on his endodontic journey with simplyendo®

As a predominantly private dentist based in Northwich, Cheshire, my goal has always been to deliver efficient, reliable, and consistently high-quality care to my patients. Around 90% of my work is private, and with that comes a responsibility to provide predictable outcomes and a standard of dentistry I can stand behind with confidence.

For me, strengthening my skills in endodontics was a key part of that commitment.

Why I chose to focus on endodontics

I wanted to become the kind of clinician who could approach root canal treatment with clarity, confidence, and consistency. Endodontics is central to comprehensive dental care, particularly in private practice, where patients expect high standards and clear communication about their treatment.

Earlier in my career, I often felt like I was working almost blindly when carrying out root canal treatments. I was doing my best, but I didn’t always feel fully in control of the process. I knew there had to be a better way to approach cases with structure and predictability.

That realisation is what set me on my endodontic journey.

Studying at simplyendo®

I completed the MSc programme with simplyendo®, having previously achieved MFDS RCSEd. I chose simplyendo® because of its strong reputation for high-quality teaching, excellent clinical standards, and the supportive learning environment it offers.

From the outset, it was clear that this wasn’t just about learning techniques. It was about truly understanding endodontics at a deeper level.

The Impact on my everyday practice

Completing the MSc has genuinely transformed my daily practice.

Today, I’m proud of the root canal treatments I provide. I feel confident delivering high-calibre work, and I’m comfortable sharing my cases on social media because I stand by the standard of care I’m providing. The clarity I now have around diagnosis, radiographic interpretation, and clinical protocols has completely changed the way I approach treatment.

Instead of uncertainty, there is now structure.
Instead of guesswork, there is a clear plan.

The programme has elevated both my technical skills and my professional confidence.

What I enjoyed most

The entire experience was outstanding, but what stood out most was the persistence and dedication of the tutors. The repetition of key concepts was invaluable. It ensured that the root canal treatment process became clear, simple, and fully embedded in my mind before I even began each case.

That consistency in teaching made complex scenarios feel manageable and logical.

A shift in mindset

Attending the programme didn’t just improve my technique. It changed my mindset.

I now approach endodontics with a structured framework in place. I can interpret radiographs far more accurately, understand the biological principles behind what I’m doing, and navigate different clinical scenarios with clarity.

Looking back, it’s almost scary how much I didn’t know before starting the MSc. Comparing my previous understanding to where I am now is humbling. The programme has completely reshaped my knowledge and confidence in this field.

My advice to other dentists

If you’re considering joining one of the simplyendo® programmes, I would strongly encourage you to take the step.

It’s challenging. It pushes you. It highlights gaps you didn’t even realise you had, but that’s exactly why it makes such a lasting difference. The impact on your clinical standards, confidence, and professional development is profound and long term.

For me, this journey has left a lifelong impression on my career.
