Year 3 of the MSc

The Masters degree in Endodontology.

For those students who have successfully completed Year 1 and 2 of the programme, submission of a satisfactory dissertation would now complete a Masters degree in Endodontology.

Successful completion of the dissertation will lead to the award of a Masters (MSc) in Endodontology.

This final component of the programme will take approximately 12 months to complete.

1:1 Supervision

You will be assigned a supervisor who will provide you with 1:1 guidance through this final year. All of our supervisors are extremely knowledgable and experienced when it comes to supervising and helping our dissertation students complete this final year.

 

Distance learning

Live and interactive webinars are delivered on key topics to help you through the final year. No on-campus attendance required. If you’re unable to join these live webinars a recording will be sent to you afterwards, so you can catch-up on the content when time allows.

 

Access to our equipment

Our facility has over 15 microscopes as well as 2D and 3D imagine machines with state-of-the-art software. All of this equipment is available for you to use if your dissertation is based on an experiment.

Graduation ceremony

Upon successful completion of the programme, your family and friends can watch you graduate at Chester Cathedral as you receive a qualification from the University of Chester.

  • Can I become a specialist after completing your MSc?

    Upon successful completion of the MSc programme, the GDC’s website states that you are “potentially eligible to enter the specialist lists on the basis of academic and research work”

    Can I apply for a level 2 accreditation for endodontics after completing your MSc?

    A number of simplyendo delegates have been successful with their applications for Tier 2 accreditation in various regions across the UK.

    If you have qualified at simplyendo OR if you are part way through the programme, you can start the accreditation process.

    The application asks for a case selection and reflective writing, this would be in line with our existing practice of case portfolio development in Year 2 of the MSc (PG Diploma).

  • In addition to your 1:1 supervision time, you will also be invited to 4 webinars.
     
    The 4 webinars will cover topics such as the launch of the module, gaining ethics approval, writing your dissertation, data collection & analysis, and an open session for you to ask questions.
     
    If you're unable to to join the webinar live then you can email questions to a member of our team and we will answer those questions during the recorded session, which will be sent to you afterwards.
     
    The exam for this module is a 15,000 word dissertation.
  • Your investment is a low deposit of £550, followed by 10 x monthly instalments of £680.

    The investment includes tuition, 10 hours of time with your assigned supervisor and the deferral fee (£2,000).

    If your dissertation is submitted within 18 months of the start date of the dissertation programme (first online meeting), you will be refunded £2,000.

Postgraduate Certificate

Year 1 of the MSc in Endodontology. An additional 6 days of study, perfecting everything you have learned from the 10 day programme to OSCE standards.

Postgraduate Diploma

Year 2 of the MSc in Endodontology. 12 days of studying advanced topics such endodontic microscopy, innovations in endodontics, research methods and statistics.

MSc in Endodontology

Year 3 of the MSc in Endodontology and the final component for the Masters Degree. You’re given approximately 12 months to submit a dissertation based on an endodontic topic of your choosing. You’ll be appointed a personal supervisor to who will provide 1:1 coaching.
