Dr. Jimmy Makdissi is a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology at Barts and The London, leading the undergraduate radiology program and pioneering CBCT training in the UK; he completed a PhD in 2023 on MRI use in dentistry.

The UK’s original CBCT course

This is the original and the longest running CBCT Masterclass in the country. It was established in 2015 with 11 delegates in London. It has since expanded nationally with numerous venues, and over 3000 delegates.

The course includes radiation physics and protection, CBCT equipment and image acquisition, principles of CBCT imaging and interpretation, radiological anatomy and pathology, and hands-on reporting of dento-alveolar 3D CBCT images.

  • This training meets the development outcomes criteria C and D of the GDC’s Enhanced CPD requirements. When booking the CBCT Masterclass you will receive free access to our "IR(ME)R with Jimmy Makdissi" module, the five hours of verifiable CPD in radiography and radiation protection, which is highly recommended for those who undertake dental radiography under the GDC’s “enhanced CPD” scheme.

  • The CBCT Masterclass is a blended learning experience. Level 1 Core Training is fully online and self-paced, giving you flexibility to complete 7 hours of verifiable CPD via JM Radiology's Articulate platform, plus access to the 5-hour IR(ME)R module. Level 2 Justification and Interpretation is delivered in person at our teaching centre in Formby on 13 May 2027, where you’ll gain practical, hands-on reporting experience with Dr. Jimmy Makdissi. Postgraduate Certificate

Year 1 of the MSc in Endodontology. An additional 6 days of study, perfecting everything you have learned from the 10 day programme to OSCE standards.

Postgraduate Diploma

Year 2 of the MSc in Endodontology. 12 days of studying advanced topics such endodontic microscopy, innovations in endodontics, research methods and statistics.

MSc in Endodontology

Year 3 of the MSc in Endodontology and the final component for the Masters Degree. You’re given approximately 12 months to submit a dissertation based on an endodontic topic of your choosing. You’ll be appointed a personal supervisor to who will provide 1:1 coaching.
