Your treatment

Our team works hard to ensure that your treatment is as stress-free as possible. We are happy to answer any questions (before, during and after your visit) so that you understand the procedures.

Once we receive a referral from your dentist we will send you a patient information pack with details of your appointment. This contains a medical history form that you should complete before your visit.

Our dentist will initially assess your tooth and advise you of the complexity of the necessary treatment. You will also be informed of the relevant fee.

A typical visit involves:

Numbing the tooth with local anaesthetic
Isolating the tooth with a small rubber sheet called a ‘rubber dam’, which protects it from contamination by saliva
Opening the top of the tooth
Cleaning out the pulp
Cleaning, enlarging and shaping the insides of the tooth roots ready for filling
Sealing the canal to safeguard against any more infection
The tooth is then ready for the usual filling or crown.
